Mr. Jitendra Singh Rawat (aged 63 years) is a seasoned mountaineer, athlete, and community leader who has been a guiding force behind the Adi Kailash Parikrama Run. With decades of experience exploring the Himalayas and mentoring adventure enthusiasts, he personifies endurance, discipline, and devotion to both nature and culture. His vision and leadership continue to inspire participants to embrace the sacred journey to Adi Kailash — the abode of Lord Shiva.

Currently residing in Kausani, Uttarakhand, and New Moti Bagh, New Delhi, Mr. Rawat serves as the moral and motivational cornerstone for the Adi Kailash Parikrama Run community.

Achievements

Mr. Rawat has completed over 30 marathons since 2009 and is a Boston Marathon Qualifier eight times, having run it five times in person and twice virtually during the pandemic. His athletic milestones represent perseverance, humility, and a lifelong passion for running.

He is a USATF-certified mentor and coach, guiding many marathoners — especially beginners — to accomplish their fitness and endurance goals. He founded the Jersey City Runners community in 2009, which now has over 6,800 online members on Meetup and 1,500 members on its private Facebook group.

Beyond His Achievements

Beyond sports and adventure, Mr. Rawat has been an advocate for eco-tourism, youth empowerment, and preservation of Himalayan traditions. His initiatives aim to promote sustainable tourism, foster self-reliance in local communities, and strengthen cultural bonds in the remote valleys of Uttarakhand. His mentorship has helped bridge the values of spirituality, adventure, and service to society.
